Bikanervala is an Indian sweets and snacks brand that’s been around forever. They have actual restaurants and a loyal customer base who trust them for festivals, parties, or just grabbing something on the weekend. In the UAE they serve people who want the real taste of Indian food without having to make it at home.
The client came to us because ordering online was a mess. They have so many products; sweets, snacks, packaged stuff, and the old site made it hard to find anything. During Diwali and other festivals the whole thing would slow down or just give up. Customers would complain and they‘d lose sales.
What needed fixing
We started in Figma and made the food star. Big photos, simple categories, no clutter. If someone wants sweets, they click sweets and see sweets. Revolutionary stuff.
For the backend, we used Shopify because it doesn’t crash when people actually use it. During Diwali or Eid when everyone orders at once the site just keeps going. We also made checkout painless because nobody wants to type their address three times while hungry.

It is because food is a purchase decision that is heavily influenced visually. Prominent, good, quality images will engage visitors more and will lead to a much higher conversion rate.
Shopify’s cloud infrastructure automatically scales up during traffic spikes, so the store can still perform smoothly even when there is a lot of ordering during events like Diwali and Eid.
